Study Of Lloyd’s mirror Experiment
Project Information
- Category: HIGHER EDUCATION LAB EQUIPMENT
- Sub Category: PHYSICS LABORATORY
- Model Number:
- Category: HIGHER EDUCATION LAB EQUIPMENT
Description
In case of Bi-Prism Assembly, a Bi-Prism is used to produce two sources of light from a single source in order to generate interference fringes but, these fringes are also produced using Lloyd mirror in place of a Bi-Prism. In Lloyd Mirror Assembly, the Lloyd Mirror is placed near the vertical slit on a specially designed upright which has provision to make the mirror exactly parallel to the vertical slit. The fringes are seen through the eyepiece formed by direct slit and its image through the Lloyd mirror.
Technical Details
Experiment:
- To find the wavelength of the sodium light using Lloyd's Mirror Experiment
Product Detail:
- The apparatus consists of an optical Bench on which components are mounted using movable rides. For setting up the experiment, slit, eye piece and Lloyd Mirror are adjusted so as to obtain well defined bright and dark fringes. Here sodium Vapour lamp is used as light source.
- Optical Bench: For Lloyd's Mirror Experiment, consists of two S.S rods, supported by heavy cast iron feet, provided with 4 metal riders. Two of the sliders have transverse motion and one rod is engraved in mms. Improved design, 46 inches long
